Resumes the importance of their 'Client First' strategies continuing to streamline their focus, promoting awareness to increase the client's ability to market affectively. I.A.M. Resumes is an Internet based business serving the United States through email, conference calls, fax, and the postal service.

Carolyn Lee (Senior Consultant) believes in possibilities and implementing positive outcomes to increase client awareness, as they begin to see themselves as something more.

"Often times I engage in conversation with a client and they are unaware of their true potential, under estimating their abilities. I listen to what they are saying and then I listen to what they are not saying, as I filter through information and begin to plan a marketing strategy based on their strengths, skill base, and potential. Most clients begin to see themselves differently once they have received their Resume Presentation Package. Life is about opportunities and not limitations, as each individual works through the various increments of their career focus developing marketing strategies to promote positive outcomes," says Carolyn Lee.

There has been an increasing awareness within this economy that has come to light. More and more potential clients view a Resume Presentation Package as a valuable investment into their career. The competition can be fierce and for those not prepared to take on this challenge, will soon realize that they will need to invest or fall behind those that satisfy the requirements of future employment.

The Star Tribune (Minneapolis, Minnesota) provides insight into what works and what will not work. "These days there is more demand for jobs than there is supply. But to get the interview, it's important to give a potential employer a reason to call you. Make Yourself Known ... "It's about standing out," says Jim Kwapick, regional vice president for Robert Half Management Resources. "If you're in the resume shuffle - and are responding to an ad - an under used tool is the cover letter. That'll help you stand out, because most people don't use them."

According to a recent survey conducted by Robert Half, 86 percent of executives said a cover letter helps land an interview. The cover letter should be short and concise. Beef Up Your Resume ... Don't neglect your resume. A good one will help you stand out and make an interview more likely. "The same rules apply to a well-written cover letter will also apply to a well-written resume - it needs to be concise," notes Kwapick.

The typical resume gets looked at for 15 seconds before a decision is made. Make sure you constantly update your resume - not just before applying for a new job. Ensure that it is written with your skills and it shouldn't simply parrot the job description from the posting. "The key is to make it have punch," says Kwapick. For those seeking a job, Kwapick says to look at the big picture and stay optimistic, it will come.

Having a solid cover letter and resume should be second nature for job seekers. It's what will get you the interview. -- Robert Elsenpeter (freelance writer Minnesota 2009)
